Each day, Covenant Health helps people face life's challenges with dignity and hope - from the most complex medical problems to the sacred moments of life and death to the everyday realities of aging.
Building on a 147-year legacy of quality, compassionate care, we are committed to positively influencing the health of Albertans and being of greater service to those in need by working together with compassion, quality and innovation.
We cannot do this alone. Your support helps us to improve the quality of life for patients and residents, using the best technology and approaches to care.
The Institute for Reconstructive Sciences in Medicine (iRSM) at the Misericordia Community Hospital is a unique and highly specialized program that provides reconstructive and rehabilitative treatment for patients with defects to the head or neck due to disease, trauma or congenital conditions.
Your support will help iRSM use the latest technology and approaches to make a significant difference to quality of life for those iRSM serves. A new 3DMD scanner will provide state-of-the-art digital imaging to complete critical digital surface scans of facial features for treatment planning and surgery.
Funding will also help our multi-disciplinary team break ground on new approaches to prosthetic treatment using medical modeling into biologically based and biocompatible materials for new and better solutions to traditional prosthetic materials.
At the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre and Youville Home in St. Albert, we provide a compassionate, safe, engaging care environment for 680 seniors who can no longer live at home. With the support of families and the community, we provide the comforts of home and focus on creating a home-like environment for our residents to meet their daily needs and enhance their quality of life.
Your support for these daily comforts will enhance the health and wellbeing of residents and help our 1,400 staff and 600 volunteers meet residents' needs-body, mind and soul.
Through the Bed Renewal Project, electric beds, specifically designed for continuing care and fitted with special mattresses, will increase residents' comfort and independence, and help those residents who are no longer mobile stay healthy and comfortable. Similarly, new ergonomic designed tubs are a modest change that will reap great benefits and provide residents and staff with a significant improvement to their day to day life.
With your help, we will also create more suitable living spaces for residents whose weight requires specialized bariatric beds and equipment and more room for residents and staff to move comfortably and safely. We'll also develop garden space at Youville Home and make improvements to the entrance of the facility.
On behalf of our patients and residents and the staff, physicians and volunteers who serve them each day, thank you for your support.
